2023 Competition news

The Rosemary Cup - Sunday 30th April 2023

Twenty members took part in the season's opening club competition, split into 5 teams of four players named the Alpacas, Bulldogs, Cougars, Dragons and Eagles. The Alpacas - Paul Binge, Alain Le Goff, Paul Mantell and Mark Rowley - prevailed, a photo of three of the team appears below, and the Eagles, who shall remain nameless, took the wooden spoon. Proceedings began with a "Spider" contest that was won by Tony Galsworthy. A splendid afternoon's bowling was enjoyed by all and thanks are due to everyone who took part and contributed to the day.

Centenary Bowl - Saturday 27th May 2023

Another good turn out as sixteen members took part in this competition with 4 teams of four players each contesting a round robin format for this coveted prize. The Bulldogs - Chris Hucker, Maureen Smith, Paul Binge and Bob Rickman - won all three matches of six ends each followed by the Alpacas (2 wins), the Dragons (1 win) and the Cougars (who let's just say took part!). As usual proceedings commenced with a "Spider" that again saw Tony Galsworthy add to his wine collection.

The Green Trophy - Sunday 10th September 2023

The Green Trophy played on Sunday 10th September 2023 with our friends from the Tennis Section was won by Club President Anna Hayne  & Daisy (Tennis) with a little help from Tony Galsworthy & Roy Shufflebotham (Bowls)
