Welcome to Whitchurch Neighbourcare
Do you need support ?
If you need help getting to and from medical appointments, collecting medication or other essential supplies - please call 07511 241045
Whitchurch Neighbourcare is a group of local people, all volunteers, who offer a helping hand to residents of Whitchurch and surrounding villages. We are part of the County wide Good Neighbours Network.
https://www.goodneighbours.org.uk
Our main aim is to provide transport, for those less able than ourselves, to hospitals, doctors, dentists and other medical related appointments.
We will consider all requests from residents of Whitchurch and surrounding villages who are unable to use public transport to get to appointments.
Going to a medical appointment can be a very anxious time for anyone; we aim to reduce this by taking people to the door, waiting with them and bringing them home again. Our ethos is to help people to maintain their independence as much as possible.
We can provide transport from home for:
- All Hospitals
- Doctors surgeries
- Dentists
- Opticians
We also do a collection and delivery service for prescriptions.
How to get Help
To request assistance please ring:-
07511 241045
between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday (excluding Christmas, New Year, and other Bank Holidays)
Your call will be answered by one of our local co-ordinators or you may leave a message and the co-ordinator on duty will ring you back.
Please DO NOT ring co-ordinators or drivers on their private telephone numbers, as messages may not be picked up.
All calls are charged at local rate.
NOTE: If your request is very short notice (for the same day as you call us) we will ask our team of lovely volunteers if any of them are available. There's always a chance one will be able to step in and assist, however there's no guarantee (as with all other requests) that we'll be able to help but it's always worth asking.
