Great Yarmouth Borough Council launches customer feedback survey to help improve services

Great Yarmouth Borough Council has announced an online customer feedback survey to help it better understand residents’ needs.

The questionnaire is designed to help the council recognise how residents of the borough access its services and collect some demographic information. The survey asks questions around how people interact with the council, their preferred method of contact and looks to identify areas where service delivery could be improved.

This survey is completely anonymous and should only take a couple of minutes to complete. All  feedback will help the council to shape its service delivery to better meet the needs of everyone in the community.

The survey is online and is open until Sunday, October 8.

Miranda Lee, Head of Customer Services at Great Yarmouth Borough Council, said: “We want to provide effective and accessible services to our residents and visitors to the borough, as well as promote equality and inclusion for all.

“Filling out this short survey will help us in identifying areas where we could improve services for our community and we would really appreciate the feedback.”  

People completing the survey will also have the option to enter a prize draw for tickets to see the Hippodromes Spooktacular show in the town this autumn.

Consultation on Proposal to add a Social, Emotional and Mental Health Base at Winterton Primary School and Nursery, Norfolk from 1 September 2025

Our Proposal

Consortium Trust would like to hear your views on their proposal to add an 8-place Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Base from 1 September 2025, at Winterton-on-Sea Primary School and Nursery, Black Street, Winterton-on-sea, Great Yarmouth, NR29 4AP.
We appreciate that children and young people with SEMH needs can struggle to engage with
learning and cope in a classroom without additional strategies and interventions. A Base can
support children to overcome their barriers to learning, to be better able to cope, and to be reintegrated
into a mainstream setting, in which they can achieve their potential.

We are very keen to provide this support in our schools. Our SEMH base will be part of the Base
network and is a key part of Norfolk’s Local Offer for children with special educational needs and
their families. This has been identified in Norfolk’s Local First Inclusion Programme as a priority for development.
The SEMH Base places will be allocated through Norfolk County Admissions processes and may
not be full from 1 September 2025, but will grow up to full capacity through this admissions process.

Caister and Rural Villages Residents Survey 2023

A partnership is being created for Caister and the rural villages to target underage drinking and anti-social behaviour. 

CAPs are made up of partnerships between local authorities, police, schools, retailers, neighbourhood groups and health providers, working together to tackle alcohol-related harm to young people and improve the quality of life for residents.

The CAP works closely with the local schools to take a proactive approach to alcohol education, to ensure that young people are equipped to make the right decisions about issues including drugs, anti-social and criminal behaviour. It also works with local retailers to help them avoid making underage sales and reduce ‘proxy’ sales where adults buy alcohol for under-18s. 

The partnership would like residents to complete this short survey as it will help them to understand where public concerns are and help direct their work to resolve the issues.

Disability Action Plan Consultation

The government is seeking views on their proposed Disability Action Plan and new areas for action. They want to hear from as many people as possible.

The consultation is aimed at anyone with an interest in the actions the government will take during 2023 and 2024 to improve the lives of disabled people. Disabled people and disabled people’s organisations may be particularly interested but anyone, including any organisations or individuals, may respond. The findings will inform the final content of the Disability Action Plan.

The consultation ends on 6 October 2023.
