A lifesaving piece of equipment, which is accessible 24 hours a day, has been installed on the side of a village hall in north Shropshire. Donated by Woore Parish Council, a defibrillator will be located on the side of Woore Village Hall, London Road, for anyone who might need it.

It comes after the council was contacted by members of the village hall who were seeking advice on the funding that was available for a defibrillator. As the village hall runs a number of events and sporting activities, it was important that members had access to the lifesaving equipment when at the hall.

Helen Jackson, of Woore Parish Council, said: “There is one defibrillator at Pipe Gate and one outside the Country Store and the village hall is in the middle of those two. “The hall has various sporting activities and for it to not have a defibrillator is a shame.”Helen said it is a great place to have a defibrillator and that the council were happy to provide members with the generous donation. “It’s really fantastic. Our defibrillators have been actively used twice in the last 18 months.”
