Crookham Village Parish Neighbourhood Plan

We are involving the community to form a sustainable plan to help protect the Parish of Crookham Village from uncontrolled development.

This affects you because you live in Crookham Village Parish and the parish includes the wards of Zebon Copse, Netherhouse Moor and the Old Village.

 

 

With many thanks to both the team that worked to compile and check the Neighbourhood Plan, and to everyone who took the time to speak with the team at events or to respond to the various consultations.

 

The Crookham Village Neighbourhood Plan was submitted to Hart District Council for independent examination in July 2019. During the examination, the Independent Examiner provided Clarification Questions to the Parish Council and Hart District Council. In responding to the Examiner’s questions, the Parish Council has provided additional evidence in support of Policy NE01 – Preserving the Gap Between Settlements.

 

Hart District Council is now required to carry out further consultation on the additional evidence. The consultation period is between 10am on Wednesday 23rd October and ending at 4pm on Wednesday 20th November 2019, and all representations must be made to the District Council as set out below.  

 

Following this four week public consultation, the Examiner will provide his report. Dependent on the outcome of the examination, the Plan will then be subject to a local referendum. If successful, the Crookham Village Neighbourhood Plan will be ‘made’ (bought into legal force) and will form part of the Hart Development Plan and be used in the determination of planning applications relating to land in Crookham Village Parish.

Please note that representations to the consultation must be made in writing. There are several ways to make your comments:

 

• Complete a form (these can be found online) and email it to: neighbourhoodplanning@hart.gov.uk  
• Print a representation form or write a letter and post it to us at: Neighbourhood Planning, Corporate Policy, Hart District Council, Harlington Way, Fleet, GU51 4AE

 

Any representation may include a request to be notified of the Council’s decision to ‘make’ the Neighbourhood Development Plan (bring it in to legal force).

All comments must be received by 4pm on Wednesday 20th November. Representations after this time will not be accepted.

How this affects you

A Neighbourhood Plan establishes general planning policies for the development and use of land in a neighbourhood, like:

• where new homes, leisure facilities and business premises should be built
• what type of development they should be and what they should look like

The plan can be detailed or general, depending on what local people want. Neighbourhood Plans allow local people to get the right type of development for their community, but the plans must still meet the needs of the wider area and fit with the Hart District Council Local Plan when it is completed.
