Staffordshire County Council Highways Recent and Planned Road Repairs: Update from Parish Council:
- Generally, Bednall Road, Common Lane and the Teddesley Road planned 13 reported defects for repair 2-5 August
- Specifically Common Lane, Bednall, some larger repairs and potentially an application of the Roadmaster system, an all-in-one spray injection chip patching system intended to seal the target area, filling cracking and removing potholes whilst regulating the surface. It claims to produce a better finish and reducing the likelihood of road repairs failing prematurely
- Teddesley Road [in particular at and within 25m of its junctions with Bednall Road and Common Lane] 7 August, significant pot hole repairs
- Mill Lane; major improvements completed in June, with daytime road closures. There are 2 known significant defects not completed as the crew apparently ran out of time. Will be added to program ASAP
- Acton Hill Lane from the A34. BT have a permit for multiple closures / locations beginning in September, with ‘like for like’ road diversions at closures. We have no more details
- Longer term discussions continue between PC and SCC Highways on mitigation measures to reduce speeding, vehicle collisions and hazards to pedestrians and parked vehicles throughout the Parish but notably Common Lane Bednall, Acton Hill Lane, Cooks Bank, Top Road, Lower Penkridge Road and Mill Lane Acton Trussell at locations where the Speed Indicator Devices [SIDs] cannot be installed due to sight lines being too short for their radar system.
