There are currently three tiers of local government, each with different responsibilities.
The Parish Council is the tier closest to the community. Our focus is on the things that are particularly local - our facilities, open spaces, community provision and the issues that directly affect Balderton.
Newark and Sherwood District Council deals with services including planning, housing, waste collection and environmental health. Nottinghamshire County Council is responsible for services such as highways, education and social care.
Different responsibilities, but plenty of reasons to work together. Balderton Parish Council regularly does just that.
