Some news from Bowls England

Get set for the National Finals from 15th August to 1st September.

Each summer the eyes of the bowls world fall on Royal Leamington Spa for the prestigious Bowls England National Finals. Prepare yourself for the ultimate battle on the greens and witness the best players in the country competing for glory. Get tickets and discover everything about the event here.

£153 raised for Parkinsons Rugby Branch

A big thank you to everyone involved in our club Memorial Day and fundraiser held in May.

Competition news

Congratulations to the Bilton Ladies who fielded a team to play in the Top Club Competition last week and beat Lillington in a close fought match. The quarter final will now be played against Welford.

Congratulations also to the Bilton Men, as one of their teams progresses to the next round of the Ivans Cup. They will next play Thornfield on home ground.

Ladies roll-up Monday 17th June 6.00

This informal roll up is held once a month and is ideal for newer members to come and get some practice with support from more established members. If you would like more information, get in touch with Helen Scott

Coaching

The club is very fortunate to have two coach bowls fully qualified coaches Sam Bridges (level two) and Martin Sandwell (level one) Both offer support and individual sessions at no charge to club members. Please do get in touch with them directly or see information on the noticeboards.

Exciting news about our website. As you may be aware the clubs web page is hosted by HugoFox and they have recently introduced a ‘member only’ feature. Look out for an email which will invite you to log in to the members only page and set your password. Take a look around and please let us know your ideas on what information you would like included. This is your members area.

Bilton Bowlers Munificent gift by Mrs T Horton

Bilton Bowling Club now has its own ground, and presiding at the annual meeting of the club at the Royal George on Tuesday Mr. A Cook (the president) thanked Mrs Horton for her gift on behalf of the members. The gift made last year comprises the land on which the club has been playing for the past twelve years and also the plantation next to it, comprising some 1½ acres. Officials were elected as follows, president and treasurer Mr. Cook, secretary Mr Dean, match secretary Mr. Evans, captain Mr Wincott and vice-captain Mr Facer.

Last season's match record was given as games played 37 won 23, lost 13, draw 1.
