HEAR THE FASCINATING STORY OF KNARESBOROUGH FOREST - ONCE A HUNTING GROUND FOR THE ROYALS
A reminder that the next BM Local History Group meeting on Tuesday 31st March at 7pm in the Methodist Schoolroom is an illustrated talk about the history of Knaresborough Forest which once covered 45 square miles including the areas which are now the Stray and the Nidd Gorge.
Kathy Allday from Knaresborough Museum will tell us all about the history of the forest including the period when it was a royal hunting ground. She will also tell us about the efforts underway now to reforest parts of the area to protect it from development.
