The iconic sign outside the Lamb and Flag has been sent to the recycling tip. Former landlady Carol Pawson had hoped to keep the sign and relocate it elsewhere in the village as a momento of the much-loved pub which has been sold for housing. Due to a misunderstanding with the developers building the new houses on the pub site, workmen clearing the site weren't aware that thje sign should be saved and sent it to the tip with other waste.
