The Village Hall is to get wifi. After a presentation at the VH Committee meeting on Wednesday night, it was decided to install a satellite-based wifi system which should give download speeds of up to 150Mb. This will be welcome news for users of the Hall, many of whom have been asking for wifi for some years. This development follows the recent welcome installation of new headset microphones in the Hall which have already been used for a number of events.

At the same meeting, the Committee also decided to buy a sand and soil spreader to help with the maintenance of the croquet, bowls and cricket playing surfaces. The meeting also heard about the continuing discussions with other cricket clubs which could mean that cricket will continue to be played in Bishop Monkton despite the demise of the village cricket club.

Members of the Committee were also pleased to hear that the textile bank has been installed in the carpark by the Yorkshire Air Ambulance for recycling clothes.
