Benevolent Fund

Clubs are reminded that the County Benevolent Fund exists solely to help Hampshire bowlers (who are, or have been, affiliated members of Bowls Hampshire) and their dependants who from age, illness, infirmity or any other cause are impoverished or in distressed financial circumstances.

Recent seasons have seen a decline in the number of applications. Hardly any new applications have been received in recent years which is a surprise to the Trustees as the law of simple averages dictates that some individuals, and possibly families, are living very close to the breadline.

Club Secretaries are asked to examine their current membership and if they are unsure whether any of their members qualify for the Funds assistance then please contact the Treasurer who will be only be too pleased to give you further information and assist in compiling an application.

The Benevolent Fund has ample funds at present to help in extreme cases and the Trustees hope that this will encourage Clubs to apply for future grants.
