Good News and Bad News

First, the bad news. On Wednesday, we suffered two defeats in County Competitions. Our Ladies lost to Woburn Sands, while both teams won one rink each Woburn Sands had the highest total score and clinched the extra two points. Our men lost to Stony Stratford and now face a ‘winner takes all’ game against Scots to qualify for the last 16.

Now the good news. On Tuesday, The Ladies picked up a friendly victory at home to Aylesbury Town. There was more good news in the Ladies County Triples with both of our teams progressing to the next round. Well done to Gill D, Steph and Joan and to Tricia, Sue and Joëlle.

And the news just keeps getting better with two friendly victories. On Saturday Afternoon, we won 32-20 at Cheddington. Unfortunately, the game had to be stopped after 12 ends due to the typical British summer weather. Well done to Vaunda, Peter F and Dave for picking up the best rink prizes. On Sunday we hosted Bicester and won by 124-77 with Jed, Patricia and Gill D picking up the highest rink prize. Finally, on Sunday, Tricia and Martin notched up another win in their Foundation Pairs campaign and now face an away trip to Waddesdon in the county semi-finals.

Fixtures

It is a crunch week for our Men in the Bucks Cup. We are currently level with Scots on points and shot difference but one shot behind them on shots scored and we play them on Wednesday Evening. We need to win the match to progress to the last 16 round.

Also on Wednesday Evening, our Ladies will be facing Bletchley St Martins and need a win to keep alive their chances of qualifying into next week when they will play their final round of group games. It is going to be a busy week for our Ladies because they also have an away friendly against Winslow on Tuesday and a Top Club game against Cheddington on Saturday Morning.

Our senior Men will be hosting Bletchley St Martins in the County Senior 4s on Tuesday Evening.

Our weekend friendlies are away at Wolverton Park on Saturday and home to Woburn Sands on Sunday.
