Allotments
The allotments are a fantastic part of the village, which are overseen by Councillor Derek Cardy & Councillor Richard Langdon. Having an allotment is not just about the space and the possibilities a plot can produce, it can also give you a wonderful sense of belonging to a community.
All plots are currently taken but to be placed on the waiting list, please email clerk@carharrackparishcouncil.co.uk with your contact details.
The Parish Council is writing to advise all existing allotment plot holders that, following consideration of the costs associated with maintaining and providing the allotment facilities, there will be a 15% increase in the annual allotment fee for the 2026/2027 tenancy year.
In accordance with the terms of your allotment tenancy agreement, which is attached to this email, the Parish Council is formally providing three months’ notice of this change.
We appreciate that any increase in fees is something that plot holders will need to take into consideration. However, the Council has not increased allotment fees for a number of years, and we believe that the revised charge remains very good value for money when compared with allotment fees nationally.
The allotment provision also includes a number of facilities and services within the annual fee and the Council remains committed to maintaining the allotment site and providing a well-managed and valued facility for the local community.
Payment of 2026/2027 Allotment Fees
Due to the change in this year's fee, payment for the 2026/2027 allotment year is now due by 20th of November 2026. Plot holders are, of course, welcome to make payment earlier if they wish. Wherever possible, we would ask that allotment fees are paid by BACS.
Allotment AGM
The Parish Council is also pleased to advise that the Allotment AGM is proposed to take place at Mills Hall on Saturday 17th of October 2026, between 10.00am and 11.00am, subject to final confirmation with the venue.
All allotment holders are very welcome and encouraged to attend. Further details will be provided once the arrangements have been confirmed.
A dedicated email address has also been established for allotment-related questions, notifications or issues:
allotments@carharrackparishcouncil.co.uk
This mailbox will be monitored by the new incoming Parish Clerk.
We would like to thank all existing plot holders for their continued commitment to the allotment and for helping to make it a valued part of our community. We hope that, despite the necessary increase in fees, you will continue to enjoy your plot(s) and the facilities available to you.
