Friendlies

Please refer to the Club Calendar where up to date information is posted in the event match dates have to be amended.

Matches start at 2pm, please arrive by 1.30p.m.to allow the captain to check they have a full team ready to play: this avoids the captain’s stress level rising immediately before the match - there are few feelings worse than realising at the last minute that you are a bowler short of a team!

Thank you.

All Full, Social and Junior members are welcome and encouraged to play in the Friendlies fixtures.

'Friendlies' offer a competitive atmosphere with the added benefit of meeting people from other clubs. Matches provide the ideal opportunity to develop your techniques in a friendly and supportive atmosphere whilst obtaining advice and guidance from more experienced bowlers.

Although no one ever goes out to play with the intention of losing, in friendly matches it is more important to enjoy the game rather than to simply win. If you feel that you have had a good game at the end of the match, it was a success regardless of the final score.

We have a Friendlies WhatApp group to communicate with club members in terms of availability to play and team selection.  A positive confirmation that the selected person is aware that they have been chosen is appreciated by the captain.
