About
We have a six rink green in attractive surroundings and with excellent pavilion facilities, and ample parking, in Churchfield Drive next to the playing field. We are always pleased to meet and talk to people interested in our sport and offer a warm welcome. The club has a good social side, the bar is open most evenings during the season. When autumn comes and the bowls stop the social side continues. We have various social activities including cheese and wine evening, race night (not the video version), quiz nights etc, all organised by members.
Our green is in excellent condition in a pretty setting in the Somerset market town of Castle Cary. There is ample room to sit around the green while watching a game and enjoying a drink from our well stocked bar. Non-bowling visitors often take the opportunity to take the short level walk into our interesting town.
Our pavilion is spacious and well furnished. The changing rooms are reasonably roomy and there is good access to our green and surrounds. We also have a good kitchen and are happy to provide teas and suppers for visiting teams.
We adopt a charity most years raising money to help them; for the past few years this has been the Air Ambulance and Tenovus.
Bowls is not boring and not just for the wrinklies, we have fun, exercise and good company. Come and see us and give it a try - but it does carry a health warning - IT CAN BE ADDICTIVE!
We are always pleased to:-
- Welcome new members
- Entertain touring teams
- To see spectators
