Touring Teams

Castle Cary is situated within easy reach of the M5 and A303, and about an hours drive from Bristol and Bath. Glastonbury, Street and Cheddar are within reasonable driving distances as are Yeovil and Wincanton.  There are hotels in Radstock, Street and Glastonbury that may be suitable for touring teams as well as in Bristol and Weston-Super-Mare.

Castle Cary is a pretty market town with a variety of independent shops, pubs, coffee shops and restaurants and is a 20 minute walk from the bowls club.  There are several attractions nearby such as Wells Cathedral, with bowling close by;  Haynes Motor Museum, several National Trust properties including Stourhead, Montacute and Lytes Cary;  the Newt Estate, formerly the Hadspen Estate and the Hauser and Wirth Gallery in Bruton.  The Street retail outlet centre is also nearby.

We can offer 6 outdoor rinks and refreshments as required, these can be tea, coffee etc on arrival and tea and sandwiches or a meal before or after a game.  There is also a well stocked bar.
