Road closures

The Parish Council understands that Duck Street and Mill Lane will NO LONGER be closed on the evening of the 9th of October 2023 to enable replacement of out-of-date telegraph poles, and Mill Lane will be closed to enable essential maintenance by Dorset Highways. Please see the below information:
Openreach have informed us that they have encountered an issue with the closure planned for Monday 09 October. The road closure will therefore not be in place and works replanned for the new year."

Please note the following from Balfour Beatty (the firm responsible for maintenance on the A35):
"We will have from Axminster to Bridport closed from 4th to 6th October 2023 for essential carriageway testing.

For information to pass onto your Parish, access will be available from Axminster to Charmouth Roundabout, where soft stops will be in place from Charmouth to Crown Roundabout (which is where the carriageway testing will be undertaken). I have spoken with the Traffic Management Contractor, and been advised with due care and attention, that access will be available for residents of Morcombelake and Chideock."
