What we do

Dunstable Town Bowls Club is a place where everyone is welcome to bowl in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, as well as join in with varied social activities.

For instance, Friday evening is Club night. Turn up to play and stay after for fish and chips, and drinks from our well stocked bar at affordable prices.

We facilitate and value bowling at all levels from beginners to the more experienced. Members can come and play with other members any day of the week and play friendly matches against other clubs several days a week too if they want to. (Some even include a meal after.)

For those who are more competitive there are opportunities to compete in Club, County and National Competitions in addition to playing for the Club in the County Leagues.

Whilst getting to know the game and deciding if it’s for you, we can lend you suitable bowls and provide regular coaching sessions.  All you need is flat soled shoes/trainers.

But it’s not only about Bowls.

We run regular games evenings in the summer and winter, and have an affiliated Bridge Club for anyone wanting to learn to play that too. We’ve also arranged week long Bowls Tours to hotels, travelling by coach, and usually staying in resorts on the south coast where we can play different clubs and sightsee in the area.

We don’t employ staff so that we can keep costs down making Bowls a sport affordable for all. We particularly welcome members who might want to get involved in running occasional or regular events such as barbeques, quiz nights or day trips.

Fresh air, exercise, new people, and activities suitable for all.
