The Bees

East Preston & Kingston Bowls Club The Bees

LATEST NEWS

21 May 2026 - In a gripping away encounter on Thursday, May 21, 2026, the EP Bees secured a hard-fought 4 points against Worthing Pavilion, winning two out of three rinks to become joint leaders of Division 3. While the Bees were narrowly edged out on the overall aggregate score by a single point, the performance featured a brilliant, long-jack-strategy comeback on Rink 4 and a dramatic, final-end victory on Rink 6 to offset a tough loss on Rink 5. Captain Mark S. praised the team's resilient start to the season at a challenging venue, rounding off a successful afternoon of bowls that concluded with post-match refreshments at The Lamb.

19 May 2026 - What a buzzing start to the season! The East Preston Bees kicked off their WSBL Division 3 campaign with a fantastic 7-1 point victory (54-34 overall shots) against a tough Storrington side, leaving team managers Roy and Mark delighted. Despite heavy overnight rain and afternoon downpours, a massive shoutout goes to our greenkeepers, Simon and Tony, for working their magic to get the green playable. The Bees found their rhythm in the sunshine and showers, securing a dominant 28-7 win on Rink 3, a hard-fought 16-11 win on Rink 2, and a dramatic 16-16 draw on Rink 1 after clutching 7 shots from the final two ends.

Following the final end, both teams gladly retired to the warmth of the clubhouse for a well-earned drink to dry off. The afternoon concluded with traditional post-match speeches from East Preston Captain Craig and Storrington Captain Roy, with both clubs wishing each other well for the upcoming season. A huge thank you to Storrington for a match played in a wonderfully friendly spirit—we already look forward to the return fixture!

16 May 2026 - Despite the freezing conditions, the Bees put up a fierce, spirited fight against the A Team who are the reigning Division 1 champions, pushing them right to the wire with nail-biting finishes on Rinks 1 and 2. It was a fantastic, highly competitive performance that proved the Bees can hold their own against top-tier opposition, setting a brilliant foundation for the season ahead.
