Coaches Meeting

Essex Bowls Coaches Association: Open Meeting Sunday 15th February 2026 10am

Reminder

Hi Everyone. I hope you are all well and have planned to attend our annual coaching open meeting at Falcon IBC starting at 10am on Sunday 15th February. I really hope you can make the meeting as it’s a great opportunity for us to see you and to hear how you are doing.

At the meeting , in addition to our usual reviews of last year’s achievements , EBCA membership and a look at current national and county coaching requirements we have arranged for John Levy who is an experienced  New Zealand bowler  current based in Hertfordshire, to speak about motivation . Johns background in addition to bowling is as a professional motivation  speaker so we should be in for a good session

In addition, Phil Hensher (County Coaches Development) and Andy Wilkins (his deputy) will be giving  short presentations on ongoing  plans for coaching development and how to recruit and develop youth bowlers. Karen Thompson, my deputy, will present updated info about our website and introduce our Facebook account.

At the end of the meeting Ray Clark will be at the rinks with a short display of equipment useful for both disabled and our more elderly bowlers . A presentation which will be very useful to all coaches back at your clubs.

As you can see a busy meeting which we plan to have finished about 1pm.  There is no need to book just turn up. Dress code is casual . Please feel free to bring along other members of your clubs who have an interest in coaching.

Looking  forward to seeing you

Trevor Plank

County Coach / Coaching Co-ordinator

We are pleased to invite you to our annual open meeting to be held on Sunday 15th Feb at Falcon Bowls Club, Chelmsford.
The meeting will start at 10am and finish about 1pm. It is open to all coaches and club members or officials interested in coaching.
Refreshment will be available. Please bring notebook and pens.

So why do we have this meeting ?

Firstly it’s a great opportunity for you to hear the latest information and policies but most importantly is its your chance to tell us what you want. What can we improve? What can we do that we don’t already do? How can we further improve coaching in Essex ? This  information is important to us so please come and have your say.  It gives everyone involved in coaching to meet up with other coaches.

Each year we arrange a guest speaker and organise a short ‘event’.

The summer Roadshow programme is also announced plus other activities.

This year’s meeting will again be held at

Falcon IBC, Chelmsford and will be on Sunday 15th February 10am till approx 1pm.

Refreshment will be available to purchase from the club bar.

I sincerely hope that you will be able to attend and if you wish please bring along a club official who can support coaching.

There is no need to book a place, just come along.

Hope to see you.
