Safeguarding for Coaches & Clubs
It is Bowls England policy is that all bowls clubs must have a Safeguarding Officer in place by April 2025.
The Essex Bowls Coaches Association (EBCA) requires that coaches undertake courses offered by Coach Bowls and/or attend the new EBCA Safeguarding Awareness course which was launched in April 2024. This training must have taken place within the last 3 years. Course dates will be published here. Safeguarding courses in other industry sectors are also acceptable.
Safeguarding Awareness Counrse
The morning coaches’ session is only open to coaches and not club officials as it contains safeguarding information and advice when coaching. It is not suitable for club officials.
All coaches attending these sessions must be following county coaching policy and be registered with EBCA.
The afternoon session is for club safeguarding officers and contains more information on prevention and reporting.
All session start at 11am for coaches, 2pm for club officials .

All safeguarding concerns must be reported to the Bowls England Lead Safeguarding Officer for advice.
