Folland Bowling Club was established in 1949 by Mr H.P.Folland who was, at the time, Head of Folland Aircraft Company. He was a philanthropic owner who was keen to provide sports facilities for his employees, encouraging them to keep fit.  It has been in continuous use since it's inception and is now a friendly Club that is maintained by it's members. The Volunteer 'Greenkeepers' are proud of the bowling surface they provide for the bowling season which requires considerable work all year through. The Club and Pavilion are constantly being improved by many of the members who take great pride in their Club.

The Club competes in The Southampton & District Bowls Association League.

We have two Men's teams, one in Championship League 2 and one in Combination 4's Div 2, and two Ladies teams in the S&D B league. Members, both Ladies and Men, also play in individual S&D and County matches. Club competitions are ongoing throughout the season.

However it's not all competitions, we have Sunday morning Muftis, Fancy Dress days and Bar B Ques, plus of course Presidents Day, the theme of which is chosen by the current President. We also play friendly games against other Clubs and on Wednesdays we have veterans matches against other local Clubs.

You can of course use the Green for practice or friendly 'roll ups'  We meet during the closed season for social evenings in order to keep in touch.

We welcome all ages and genders as new Members by offering free coaching on Monday evenings during the season, and Membership is hugely reduced to just £20 for Novice Bowlers during their first year!!!
