PRESENT   THE 45th AUTUMN FLOWER  AND VEGETABLE SHOW

to be held on  SUNDAY 6th SEPTEMBER 2026

3.00 p.m. - 5.00 p.m.  at  HALLING JUBILEE HALL, Browndens Road, Upper Halling, ME2 1JE
Exhibits to be staged on the day between the hours of:  10.00 am - 12.00 am  Judging to start at 1.00 p.m.
Auction - 4.30 p.m.
Raffle - 4.45 p.m.
Each Exhibit - 20p to enter  Senior Citizens - 10p each   Children - Free

Admission to Show: 50p per Adult (Members FREE)

DUNDEE CAKE RECIPE

 224g (8oz) butter
 224g (8 oz) currants
 56g (2oz) ground
almonds
 56g (2oz) blanched
almonds 

 224g (8oz) caster
sugar
 224g (8 oz) raisins
 Grated rind 1 orange

 4 eggs
 112oz (4 oz) mixed
peel
 3tbsp milk

 280g (10 oz) plain
flour
 Pinch of salt
 56g (2oz) glace
cherries chopped

1. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
2. Beat in eggs one at a time
3. Fold in sieved flour and salt
4. Stir in the remaining ingredients apart from the
blanched almonds and mix well

5. Place the mixture in prepared 23cm/9in tin
6. Arrange blanched almonds on top of
mixture
7. Cold start - bake at 140* (fan) for 1hour 45
mins to 2 hours 15 mins

PLEASE NOTE
Class 26 exhibition trays provided by the Society may be lined.
28cm and 20cm show vases are provided for staging.
Paper plates are provided where needed
All exhibits must have been grown by, or in the possession of, the exhibitor for three months
prior to the show except for floral art material.
All cookery must be home-made
Prize cards will be awarded in each class.
All trophies can be won by members only.
Trophies remain the CLUB'S PROPERTY unless otherwise stated.
Adult Cups and Trophies are presented at the ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING, therefore
trophies should be returned to the committee by mid October.

Winner of Section D will be presented a CUP at the end of the show
