HALLING GARDENING SOCIETY

MINUTES OF COMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON 24th NOVEMBER 2025  from 7.30 pm At Manor Farm

Pat Catchpole, Phil Badman, Kaeren Daunt-Jones, Barbara Hopkins, David Hopkins, Barbara Mead, Amanda Merritt and Matthew Wells.

  1.  MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON 13 OCTOBER 2025

The minutes of the last meeting were agreed.

  1. MATTERS ARISING
  1. 2026 programme and leaflet
  • The date of the seed swap is now 31 January 2026 14.30 to 15.30
  • Dahlia splitting 18 April 2026 10.00 to 15,00
  • The leaflet will include a call for plants for the plant sale
  • Matt will further investigate a group visit to NGS garden, possible Horton Kirby in May or June 2026
  • Kaeren will obtain details of Little Hermitage, Higham and email details to the Committee

All information has to be with Phil by 19 December 2025.  Photographs to be used are an orange dahlia on the front and cup winners on the back.  Phil will review allocated delivery  routes.  The leaflets should be with distributors early January 2026.

  1. AGM

This went well with 21 people in attendance.  The President’s report was made available to Phil.  The food bill is awaited from Matt.

  1. AUTUMN SHOW 6 SEPTEMBER 2026

The theme for this show is Scotland.

The schedule was agreed with minor changes to Sections A and B.  Barbara M will circulate a draft copy for approval.                                                                            Action: Barbara Mead

Committee members are asked to compare this with the website guidelines for showing to ensure consistency.                                                                                      Action: ALL

Pat advised that the show judges have been booked

This is scheduled to be held on Sunday 28 June 2026.
