How Can We Help?
Haltwhistle is a small town and civil parish in Northumberland, situated sixteen miles west of Hexham, near Hadrian's Wall, and the villages of Plenmeller and Melkridge.
Haltwhistle Town Council provides a number of services in the town under Grounds Maintenance - this covers grass cutting, weed control, hanging baskets, some flowerbeds, public seating, bus stops and the care of children’s play areas.
The Town Council raises its income through an annual precept to the County Council from the Council Tax. Haltwhistle Town Council plays a vital role in representing local issues and helping to improve the quality of life for its parishioners. The Town Council provides the opportunity for people to influence decisions that touch their lives and is a conduit to the County Council.
When we meet
The Council meets on the first working Monday of each month in Room 3 of Haltwhistle Library, Main Street, Haltwhistle, normally at 6.30pm. All meetings are open to the public and the press. Questions for the Council should be received by the Town Clerk by the Monday preceding the Town Council meeting.
