Hamble Conservation Volunteers

The Hamble Conservation Volunteers are a group of local enthusiasts committed to preserving the habitat and amenity of Hamble Common for the benefit of the community.

The Volunteers regularly meet to carry out maintenance tasks and twice-monthly beach cleans.

Hamble Common and Copse, which is owned and managed by Eastleigh Borough Council, is 55 acres of coastal heath and one of the few remaining coastal heathland sites in Hampshire.

Much of Hamble Common is a site of special scientific interest due to its wide range of habitats including coastal heath, woodland, saltmarsh and mudflats. Many coastal birds like shelduck, oystercatchers and ringed plovers visit the area making it an ideal spot for wildlife photographers.
