Coronation Celebration

As part of the Coronation celebrations, the club organised a cream tea and bowls match for club members and guests on Monday 8th May. For much of the week beforehand, the forecast was for heavy rain all day but the weather relented long enough for us to play for an hour either side of the cream tea.

It was decided that the game would be played under Bowls England's new Bowls Bash format - a format new to all members of the club. Despite some initial misgivings, the members soon embraced the format and had a really enjoyable afternoon. When the points were totted up at the end of the afternoon, the result was a comfortable victory for the team of Anne Dyke, Peter Smith and Derek Parsons.
