This was the brainchild of Rob French who thought that a good way to raise money for the club would be via a sponsored walk taking in all of the Bowling Clubs in Exeter. After some careful planning and route assessment, it was decided to start the walk at Topsham Bowling Club, then to Pinces, St Thomas, Belmont, Exonia, Isca Indoor Centre and back to Heavitree - a total distance of around 10.5 miles.

Having found a willing band of hardy individuals who would do the whole walk and a number of others who were willing to do parts of it, a date of Monday 8th April was set.

The forecast on the morning was dire, predicting heavy rain all day. Undaunted, a band of 5 set off from Topsham at 9 o'clock and whilst it did rain most of the day, the rain was not as heavy as predicted and with the assistance and support of other members joining in, and very warm hospitality at the Exonia Bowling Club, the group completed the walk around 2 o'clock. They were greeted with cheers by fellow members of Heavitree and a cream tea as a reward.

The walk raised extremely valuable funds for the club and our thanks go to Rob French and his band of walkers and to all who sponsored them.
