Trip to Porthleven

We had our first day trip of the season by coach to Porthleven on Sunday 3rd May and what a wonderful day it turned out to be.

The signs weren't promising as we drove through some heavy rain on the way down but on our arrival in Porthleven, we were greeted by warm sunshine and a welcoming party from Porthleven Bowling Club. We were able to spend some time exploring Porthleven before the bowlers and some of travelling support assembled at the Porthleven club.

We were given a really warm welcome by the Porthleven bowlers who are now planning a return visit to us next season. On the green, Heavitree played well and won on 5 of the 6 rinks although the general warmth and friendliness shown were far more important than the actual result.
