JILL COOK MEMORIAL DAY 2022 - FURTHER NEWS!

HOORAY WHAT A RESULT!!!

WE RAISED OVER ONE THOUSAND POUNDS FOR CANCER RESEARCH.

Thanks to everyone who helped to make last Saturday such a success. The sun shone, the breeze picked up and the whole day went with a swing and I am sure everyone enjoyed themselves and, most importantly, we were able to pay tribute to our great friend, Jill Cook - I am sure she was watching us and smiling.

When we started planning this day, I think I felt we would be lucky if we raised £300.00, after all it was the first time for our event, men were not included in the play (which affects the bar takings) and we had no idea how many people would support us. Well, I shouldn’t have worried as you all gave so much: time, money, raffle prizes and support in so many ways, with the result that we have raised this HUGE sum in Jill’s name.

So, firstly thank you all for coming, secondly thank you for donating prizes as well as buying raffle tickets, thirdly thank you to so many people who donated cakes, scones etc. And lastly so many thanks to all those who pitched in and helped with the organisation both before and on the day- you are all stars and the day would not have been a success without you.
