History
The “Lee-on-the-Solent Community Care Group” was set up in 1969 by the churches in the town to provide transport to medical appointments for residents.  It became a registered charity as “Lee-on-the-Solent Voluntary Care Group” in 2000 with a Constitution dated 18 October 2000 and expanded its activities to include a weekly Lunch Club in St Faith’s Parish Centre and, for many years, a Toddlers’ Activity Group.

Over the years, many local residents have made major contributions to the Group and two in particular (Joan Seymour and Babs Giles) have been recognised for their long-term service with Memorial Benches funded by donation.  Joan’s bench is on the Lee seafront and Babs’ is in the grounds of St Faith’s Church.
