Malmesbury Bowls and Social Club
Malmesbury Bowls and Social Club is in a beautiful setting by the River Avon, under the Town Walls of the Historic Borough of Malmesbury.
It is surrounded on four sides by water and overlooked by one of the Watermills that would have lined the banks, bringing prosperity to this very ancient Borough.
The Club is very friendly and welcoming, for both experienced and new players considering taking up this active and skilful sport. It is a misnomer to think you have to be of a certain age! All ages are welcome, come along and try it and experience for yourself the beneficial advantages of taking part in this engaging sport at this amiable and helpful Club.
There are Leagues, Competitions and Friendlies for all levels and on Thursdays, during the season, members meet and play where the emphasis is on participation by all, whatever level. A great time to pick up tips and gain confidence and you must remember we have all been at that level! It is a skilful sport and cannot be learnt overnight! If playing is not your thing consider joining the Social Club, activities include quiz nights, skittles etc.
Coaching is available to guide you from novice to whatever level you wish to play.
If you are interested please do not hesitate to contact us, we will be only too pleased to discuss any queries you have.
MALMESBURY BOWLS CLUB
It is a momentous year in the History of Malmesbury Bowls Club since it's inauguration in 1926. Due to its position on the Banks of the Avon, problems caused by flooding in the past and the underlying structure of the green, it has been decided to change to an all-weather surface. Although controversial it is a forward and positive thinking decision made by the Club to guarantee the Club's future for many years to come. It has many benefits for members, it can be played on throughout the year, extending the very short season which is from April to September to Christmas and beyond!
How about a Christmas Day Match, a drink and then home to Lunch!
Cancellations will be a thing of the past unless it Snows!
