The last league game saw Malmesbury hang on to third place in the Wiltshire Four Rink League Division 2 South.

Malmesbury lost to Corsham 78-61 shots, 12-2 points. The two points were vital in securing third place as Chippenham Park finished two points below Malmesbury.

The team had a successful season winning all home matches and two away matches on grass. The first season back in the Wiltshire Four Rink League has been a success and the club can build on this for future years. Congratulations to Avon who were promoted to Division 1. It's great to see their young team having success. We wish them well next season. Commiserations to Amesbury who were demoted to Division 2 South despite finishing seventh in Division 1 as one team from each area is demoted.

County Competitions.

In the County Over 60s Triples semi-final, the Malmesbury triple were outplayed by Purton. We wish Purton good luck in the final at Devizes. Well done to Alan, Neil, Paul and Roger for getting to the semi-final. Maybe next year they can reach the final?

Club Competitions

The club competitions are reaching their final stages. The nine finals will be held on the weekend of 14/15 September.

Middleton Cup

Finally, congratulations to our county Wiltshire for winning the Middleton Cup at Leamington this week. Wiltshire lifted the Middleton Cup for the second time in their history, defeating Northumberland 106-91 in the final. The team had earlier triumphed over Huntingdonshire with a 130-89 win in the semi-final.
