SAM 2 Mobile Speed Sign
LATEST:- March 2023 - The SAM2 Unit placed in position 3 on the High Street to capture data to see if they are entering the village at a reasonable speed from this location. Following the installation of the White Gates at the top of High Street we should continue to see good results.
February 2023 - Cranes Lane data collected from December / January showed an average (85th Percentile) speed of 30 mph this is based on a vehicle count of 4,410. The actual average speed was recorded as 22.8mph from an actual total of 5,188. The maximum speed recorded during this time was 45mph which occurred on the 9th December 2022 at 16.00.
Marsham Parish Council purchased a SAM 2 Speed awareness sign towards the end of 2017. The sign is positioned around the village to help encourage drivers to be more mindful of the speed limit.
The positioning of the unit is rotated monthly, it varies, but the general order is:-
Position 1 - High Street - Near Village Green
Position 2 - High Street - Cranes Lane Junction
Position 3 - High Street - Opposite Wathen Way Junction
Position 4 - Le Neve Road - Facing High Street, Incoming traffic
Position 5 - Le Neve Road - Facing away from High Street, outgoing traffic
Position 6 - New - Cambridge Cottages Incoming traffic
