About

The Group was formed some years ago as an Area Group on the Isle of Wight for the N Gauge Society. The aim was to promote and bring together those interested in the 2mm format of railway modelling. It was an opportunity to visit other members’ layouts and discuss, developments, methods and share experiences where problems were raised.

Over the last couple of years the Group has grown to about 25 members which now meets at least monthly on a Monday evening in our new Club Room in Godshill. The Club has exhibited on the Island and run its own Model Railway Show. 

A large detailed show layout has been produced by members which caters for both DC and DCC (Digital) operations (See Pictures). This layout is usually available for use in the Club by members and is never finished of course! All members are encouraged to get involved with this.

We are a friendly bunch and especially welcome newcomers to the hobby. We are very fortunate to have experience available covering many model railway aspects. Help is always available! We also run skills workshops which have covered soldering, wiring, DCC, kit building etc . We would be very pleased to share this learning with YOU?
