Dog Fouling – Keep Our Streets and Parks Clean

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is responsible for keeping public areas clean. Failing to pick up after your dog is an offence and may result in a £50 fixed penalty fine.

All parks and open spaces in Oakley have bins available—some for dog waste, others for general litter. Please help keep our village clean.

Reporting Abandoned Vehicles

If you believe a vehicle has been abandoned, report it to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council. Reports are usually checked within 3 working days. They will not investigate if:

  • The vehicle is taxed and operational
  • It has been on private land for less than 2 months
  • It has been on public land for less than a month (unless damaged)

  • Colour
  • Exact location
  • How long it has been there
  • Any known details about who left it

Important: Vehicles involved in arson are crime scenes—report these directly to the police.

 

Dead Animals & Lost Pets

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council removes deceased animals from highways and public areas.

Domestic pets are scanned for microchips and owners contacted where possible. Pets are held for one day for collection.
