Painter's Forstal Gardening Club

Painter's Forstal Gardeners' Club was founded in 1979 and currently has around 80 members. It welcomes gardeners of all abilities with gardens and allotments great and small to meet, exchange tips, share knowledge and to socialise. Regular meetings often include a talk by a visiting guest or a member.

Meetings are usually held on the second Monday of each month in the hall at Lorenden Preparatory School. New members are welcome, and can join here.

Painter's Forstal with Ospringe Women's Institute‚Äč

Painter’s Forstal with Ospringe Women’s Institute was founded in 1937 and meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 2.15pm. We are affiliated to the National Federation of WIs – the largest women’s voluntary organisation in the country – which is “widely respected by the Government and other organisations as the voice of reason, intelligence and integrity.

We are also affiliated to the East Kent Federation of WIs which arranges a programme of day schools, outings and a range of events and has a monthly newsletter. The East Kent Federation office is located in an 18th century house at 9 Beer Cart Lane, Canterbury. It has a Members’ Lounge with tea and coffee making facilities, a small walled garden, and is open to Members from Tuesdays to Fridays between 10.00am – 1.00pm and from 1.30pm – 3.00pm.

Painter's Forstal Village Amenities Committee

Painter's Forstal VAC is a charity run to provide events within the village that bring the community together and add to village life. It is also working towards providing a new village hall following the closure of Champion Hall by the Methodist Church in 2015. For more information, or to join the VAC, click here.
