BOWLING BYELAWS
Use of the Green
The green shall be open from 10.00am until dusk Monday to Friday and from 10.00 am until 4.00pm on Saturday and Sunday. Special arrangements to play outside these times, is to be with agreement from the Honorary Secretary.
Booking of Rinks
When booking a rink the following information is required:
- • The name of the player
- • The reason for the match e.g. County Singles
- • Rink number
- • Time of start of match and approximate end time.
Should the match be cancelled / postponed then the booking made must be deleted from the ‘rink booking folder’.
Rinks cannot be booked for roll ups.
The priority for rink use will be as follows:
- • National competitions
- • County competitions
- • P&D League games
- • P&D competitions
- • Club competitions
- • Other
Rink colour and direction for each rink shall be as on the daily calendar but members wishing to change colour ONLY for competitions must have due regard for other pre booked rinks – the change must not affect others. The priority for competitions is as above. Club Captains are permitted to change direction and colour for league matches and club team competitions such as National Two Rink, Top Club, Rowland Cup, County Club and Thornbery. On completion of matches the original colour and direction must be restored as soon as possible.
Dogs Policy
This will be in accordance with Portsmouth City Council Policy.
Smoking Policy
Smoking, including e-cigarettes is not allowed on the greens or on the veranda adjacent to the pavilion entrance.
Dress
In the premises and on the green all members and visitors are expected to be suitably attired above and below the waist. Tops MUST be worn. Players should wear flat soled (heeless) shoes when on the green.
Storage of Woods
For reasons of health and safety woods are not to be stored on top of the lockers, whether in or out of a bag.
Behaviour
Members and visitors are expected to act and behave in a civilised manner.
Breach of Rules
Any breach of these rules shall in the first instance be resolved by that member’s club. If unable to resolve then it will come to the Association Management Committee.
