Outdoor

Risbygate Indoor Bowling Club Outdoor
  • One of the best greens in Suffolk, set in a beautiful environment.
  • Six high quality rinks
  • National qualified coaching team

New members are always welcome at Risbygate, so why not join the fun? Whatever your level, we give encouraging support and expert coaching to help you along the way.

For more serious bowlers, we offer club sessions, with internal and external leagues playing to both English Bowling Federation and Bowls England Codes. Suffolk County regularly stages prestigious County games on our rinks.

We have two teams that play on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings in local and West Suffolk leagues. There are leagues for men’s and mixed teams. Everyone also has the opportunity to enter County competitions.

Friendship bowling takes place for everybody who wishes to, on a Tuesday and Thursday morning at 10.00am, with a friendly drive every Friday evening at 6.00pm.

The greens are available from noon, daily, and can be booked for practice roll-ups, providing they are not required for Club matches.

Dress code

We do have a dress code, which is white above the waist and grey below, with flat-soles shoes. For club matches dress code will normally be club shirts with grey trousers or skirts. For friendship and roll ups smart casual can be worn with appropriate footwear. Regulation shorts are permitted.

Coaching can be arranged and bowls provided.

Various friendly matches, against visiting Clubs, are arranged during the season (April to September), with our own fun-days.
