Outdoor Gyms

The Council provides and maintains 2 outdoor gyms for young people and adults:

Between Crab Lane, Long Lane and Magpie Garth, Crossgates

-  what3words: airfields.longer.sharp

Please keep your dog away from the outdoor gym and, if walking it, 'pick up' after it so the whole community can enjoy this wider open space provided and maintained by North Yorkshire Council.

The Council is grateful to the former Scarborough Borough Council for granting a licence for the installation of the equipment on its land in Crossgates, and for Locality budget grants from Borough Councillors H Mallory and R Murphy, together covering one third of the cost at this site.

The Council is also grateful to the then North Yorkshire County Council for a Locality Budget Grant from Councillor H Phillips, contributing to the groundworks for the outdoor gym at Seamer and signage to be installed at both sites.

With thanks to our provider Wicksteed Leisure Ltd.

The Recreation Ground, Seamer

-  at the site of Seamer Sports Association, off Pasture Lane, Seamer. YO12 4QP

-  what3words: hamster.vivid.commended

-  alongside our open juniors' playground with benches

Please respect Seamer Sports Association and its members, who lease, maintain and have exclusive use of the rest of the site for the sport, health and recreational benefit of the community.

Please keep your dog away from the children's playground & outdoor gym and, if walking it, stay to the edges around the playing fields, keep it on a lead and 'pick up' after it, so the whole community can enjoy this superb open space provided by the Council.

There is strictly no access for vehicles or parking anywhere on this site, other than for members of Seamer Sports Association along the private access road and within their car park.
