Happy Christmas and New Year

The Chairman and Members of the Council wish all residents, community organisations and businesses of the Council's area, and colleagues in partner organisations, a very happy Christmas, and a healthy and prosperous New Year.

With particular thanks and best wishes to all who volunteer in the area.

Community Carol Singing | 7.00pm Sunday 14 December 2025 | Crossgates Community Centre

Crossgates Community Centre Management Committee invites all residents and their families to the annual community carol singing, on Sunday 14 December 2025 commencing at 7.00pm, led by Deacon (retired) Terry Street.

The Council is pleased to provide for the Simply Brass band to accompany the community carol singing and to contribute, with the Centre Management Committee, to a free buffet supper to follow.

Carol Service | 7.00pm Tuesday 16 December 2025 | Seamer & Irton War Memorial Hall

The Council invites all residents of the Council's area and their families to the Council's annual carol service on Tuesday 16 December 2025, at Seamer & Irton War Memorial Hall commencing at 7.00pm, led by Rev Dr K Ridd, Minister of Seamer Methodist Church.

Light refreshments will be served.

Christmas Trees and Lights

Look out for and enjoy our Christmas trees and lights:

  • a Christmas tree with lights on the Council's car park outside Seamer & Irton War Memorial Hall.
  • Christmas lights on an existing prominent tree near the front of The Green, Seamer, the Council's registered village green.
  • 3 small Christmas trees with lights, high up on the B1261 main road side of Crossgates Community Centre.
