PARISH OF SEAMER
Seamer Parish Council is constituted as a local authority and first met in 1894 under the Local Government Act of that year.
The Council covers a large rural area together with Seamer Village and Crossgates near Scarborough in North Yorkshire.
The registered Electors of each of the Seamer and Crossgates Wards may elect up to 5 Councillors, 10 in total, generally every 4 years.
Vacancies, which exist due to less than 10 Councillors being elected and/or one or more Councillor(s) leaving office in between elections, are currently as follows:

NOTICE OF VACANCY IN OFFICE OF COUNCILLOR
SEAMER PARISH COUNCIL - SEAMER WARD
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that due to the non attendance of James Harvey Stockdale, a vacancy has arisen in the Office of Councillor for the Parish Council.
If by 6 January 2026 (14 days excluding Dies Non, after the date of this notice) a request for an election to fill said vacancy is made in writing to the Proper Officer at the address below by TEN electors for the said Parish, an election will be held to fill the said vacancy, otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option.
If an election is called, it will take place not later than 10 March 2026.
