Spring 2024 Exhibition

March 2024 saw the Society holding it's Spring Exhibition of member's artwork at the Guildhall, Lichfield.

Attendance over the three days was great, with over 800 visitors recorded. And quite a number of ceramics, paintings and mixed media artwork was sold, with a sticker price total of over £1,200. Well done to all!

Deborah Hodgson, President of the Sutton Coldfield Society of Artists, judged our artwork for us and awards were given as detailed below:

  • John Sanders Award for Best Artwork in Show went to Ray Blundell
  • Eilidh Barnardo Award for Drawing went to Christine Carter
  • Daphne Gick Award for The Natural World went to Wendy Griffiths
  • Dorothy Godfrey Award for Landscapes went to Dennis Harper
  • Len Powell Memorial Prize for the visitor's favourite artwork went to Wendy Griffiths
  • Margaret Newman-Smith Award for Portrait went to Kerry Telford
  • Awards of Excellence went to Anthony Reeves, Claire Turner and Barbara Ann Weaving

All members who exhibited and attended were pleased with the exhibition and thanks go to all those involved in setting everything up.
