Make The Legacy Our Own Forever (Fragment)

I.Dendi.T.: Who are you?

Yolanda: I am of humanity and of the youth.

I.Dendi.T.: Where did you come from?

Yolanda: I am from the Hemisphere, unlike you. Where in Europe is your home?

I.Dendi.T.: My home is here, in the American my grandfather built!

John: He only built was stolen from 20 generations of my grandmother and grandfathers!

I.Dendi.T.: What do you mean?

Ibrahim: When your family stole his land, her wealth, and my people: your home is not here. You are an alien … .

Yolanda: You are not the real

John: You are not the earth

Yolanda: You are not the sky

Ibrahim: You are not in harmony

John, Yolanda, and Ibrahim: THIS IS NOT YOUR HOME!

(To be very much continued.)

Nadie Es Un Extranjero

Nobody Is An Alien

And the people who work and who are hungry and cannot see
When they walk the streets in the air without a raise in income
With a life in hell
Listening to the word that induces
Like a vampire face, open mouth and screaming
That we are workers and not slaves
Like a rising red rose
And stop, stop the bad soul
Nobody is an alien
And yes, open a new door
A single drop, a free song, today was all down to earth
Together with friend in front of the enemy that is born in joy
Laughter and by the sea on the island of Borinquen, one year passed since Hurricane Maria
Leaves that fall the water of your soul
A moment of silence to the 4,695 lives that died
And your eyes are lenses and sad like the voice of Ismael Rivera
Love is not love
And what the vampire wants is the misery of us
And the fire of my words with laughter and love
And that they believe in their soul, not those who are closed
And in Union Square, wake up and defend yours
Come on, Borinquen, on your call
And in the Barrio, the march through the streets in honor of 150 years of Grito de Lares
And life is priceless

How Alien

How alien
to stand infront of the mirror
to gaze upon the reverse reflection of myself
to raise my right hand and
wipe away the tears with my left

Beauty

I am a better woman
Hearing beautiful sounds
I watch a film on TV
It inspires me to write
The ground of true worth
Through life that I see
Triumph is my goal
Even though an ‘Alien’
Lives within me
It is in my brain, but never mind
I have to live as a better woman
That it tries to defeat
The beauty within me
YOU WATCH
This pen is mightier than
The sword of this ‘Alien’ tumour
Inside me
I cry get away - you won’t stop me
I am a beautiful woman,
a writer, a poet, you’ll see...

When The Door Bangs

Talk of an angel and devil beside you,
What of the gecko-skinned fish-tailed
Creature with whiskers and penguin wings
Beside me and behind me?
My alien shadow
Waddles and battles alongside,
Mostly silent, unseen
Until the door bangs
And the little kid runs away.

Walking along in prickly grass in flip flops
Being dragged along by someone taller
I say, “I need to get a drink of water,”
Meaning, “Can we go to the fountain?”
He looks at me, and the door bangs.
I see his contempt, his dislike revealed.
I’m shut out, a thirsty alien on a lonely crag
Of lordly inheritance.
In my head I feel small, young and unknown,
A stranger again
Where his ancestors sleep in every mound.

Crouching by the door,
Lifting cat litter
Glove-clad, fumbling hands,
Trying to move an unwieldy garden sack.
A freezing wind blows in my face.
All of a sudden
I was in the alleyway behind a theatre
Begging from players and fabulously astute
Bankers:
Money wadded in bags like bows.

Then Miss Havisham and She
Swept me into their horse-drawn carriage:
Purple, plumed mares with goats’ eyes.
The door of Castle Dracule banged
And the ground was cold and moving,
Talcum powder and nail polish
Assaulted my nose.
The kid came back.

When the door bangs and you’re shut out,
When the door bangs and you’re locked in,
It’s just a difficult game.
Remember how well you lost
Trying to recall the good times,
The laughs, the songs.
“You’re alright,”
“Never mind, Hen,”
“Where’s Giggy?”
That’s when the alien creature beside me
Settles down next to my aching jaw.
It’s a weird embrace, but we’re kin.
They have their people.
We hurtle up the hill,
Pleased he saw all those years ago,
Quicker up than down,
Battle weary but not done.

Alien

It was an ‘Alien’ of true worth
It sank into the brain, from the ‘pea’ like gland of the pituitary
It grew unknown to its owner for years, until one day,
It was found by mistake
When another issue of health
Was being researched.
This ‘Alien’ made its owner scared -
On examination, she was told a tumour -
a brain tumour.
She was told different things from
Different doctors, consultants -
But the truth, came about -
It is a tumour, don’t let anyone else try to say
Otherwise.
So, there we are - the Alien was born.
As the years went by,
It grew, but it’s owner was unaware, it was
Just being monitored.
And then the time came - an operation -
It’s owner would probably not survive
But she did, amongst having a brain leak also -
Then with her families help,
She began to avoid thinking of the ‘Alien’
She had survived.
About a year later, she was told the biopsy
Was benign, but although small, it was still in the brain,
Monitoring must occur, as it could grow again -
Life took hold, it’s owner tried to avoid its thought -
So a positive attitude came along -
‘Alien’ began to drift away, into oblivion.
Sometimes it was hard to forget, as it had an
Ignorance with itself, to avoid the emotion
Of its own life.
It was An Alien’ after all...

Over bound blind to connection creams

As they rest on the door step chat
Án Bean Sí calling death fold gold
Visit the sound call bellow piper tuned
The fairies music stol still nearby heard
Unwritten verse in wind force gale
In rain in ripples lake and river bed
Fries Alien fries

Sweet in the fairies melody
