Ashcroft Green Development Project

We're excited to be leading a community green space enhancement in the South West Ward of Gainsborough, working alongside local residents.

Our aim is simple: create greenspace that's genuinely welcoming and easy to enjoy, bring more wildlife back to the area, and give the only public green space in this part of Gainsborough, a more vibrant and cared-for appearance.

In partnership with West Lindsey District Council we have agreed on a management plan that will keep a central grassy area mown short for amenity use while we maintain the surrounding area with ornamental planting and a wildflower area. We've loved getting local schools and volunteers involved to propagate and plant wildflowers under the trees, and we aim to add more colour along the roadside next year.

Seasonal community celebrations on Ashcroft Green, and the installation of raised beds for food growing have involved the whole community, giving people a reason to come together, get outdoors, and enjoy this space as it develops.

In time, we hope to explore opportunities to convert the adjacent derelict land owned by Anglian Water into more community space.
