Wellington's East of Exe League campaign finally got under way at Cullompton last night (20 May). After the total washout of the scheduled first week, it was a joy to be able to see a full match in delightful conditions.
Our rinks were soon into their stride, and we ran out overall winners by 83 shots to 57, winning 3 rinks out of the 4. Special mention for the winning skips and their rinks - Chrissie Willcocks whose rink won handsomely, Bill Warnett's rink won by 14 clear shots, and Paul Kelly's group by a couple of shots. Commiserations to Tony Gibson's rink who were only a handful of shots behind at the end.
All in all, a good start to the season. Looking forward to the next East of Exe match, on 3 June, at Home to Feniton.
