Please contact Jay if you are interested in representing Somerset Patrons in 2024. I will send you the fixture list and application form.

Barrie, Bob and myself Carolle, are the Officers of the Association would like to stress-

a) our matches are played in a relaxed atmosphere and are suitable for bowlers of all abilities.

b) Club members may apply for as many or as few matches as suits each individual always bearing in mind their club responsibilities

c) As all but one of the matches are mixed they present an ideal opportunity for spouses/partners to partake together and to play at clubs that may be outside the range of their usual club fixtures.

d) £1 per member per season, but it helps our Treasurer if the club pays for all its members by one payment (as many do – thank you). The means by which payment can be made is shown on the Subscription form. You can pay by Cheque or BACS/Internet Banking.

Match Fees – no change

The fee is £12 where post-match food is being provided. The object of the Association is to raise funds for the parent body through organizing matches. Some clubs are now charging the Association meal costs in excess of the value of the food being provided in order to make a “turn” for themselves. That is sad given the purpose of these matches and with this unfortunate trend we were left last year with no choice but to raise the match fee from £10 to £12.

As you will have noticed we now have a new treasurer, David Wederell has retired due to ill health and I would like this opportunity to thank David for all his hard work over the years on behalf of the Patrons Association. Our new treasurer is Bob Dickie who is a player who plays for Ilminster and he is also a SBA Board member who is our Webmaster.
