The Teignmouth Tournament enters it's 85th year in 2019. We are very proud of this and fully intend to see it through to it's Centenary event, and beyond.

Last year we moved it from it's traditional date in June to mid September. This was a resounding success with our entries doubling! With many outdoor bowling tournaments falling by the wayside we have very much bucked the trend and intend to carry on doing so.

We are one of the highest prize paying tournaments in the country with a prize fund pot of £6000 being paid out.

We are also trying to accommodate all bowlers by making the events short and sharp (only 1 or 2 days events) and by having a varied selection of different events for bowlers to enter. Additionally, each event is initially carried out on a "Round Robin" basis, guaranteeing the entrants multiple games (of reduced ends), and top value, for their entry fee.

Last year we attracted bowlers from all the around the country. The area is of outstanding natural beauty, with plenty of good quality places to stay, eat and drink, and much to do outside of bowling.

Last year was so successful that we have re-introduced a Men's Pairs, one day event, for 2019.

We are also one of the few tournaments that continue to actively encourage the youth development of our sport by having 2 different age group's Juniors events. This is a fundamental commitment from us to continue to push, going forward.

So the list of events for 2019 are;

1) OPEN SINGLES (everyone guaranteed a minimum of 2 games on Day 1, then move into knock out stages on Day 2)

2) OPEN TRIPLES (everyone guaranteed a full days bowling on Day 1, then move into knock out stages on Day 2)

3) MIXED PAIRS (everyone guaranteed a full days bowling)

4) LADIES PAIRS (everyone guaranteed a full days bowling)

5) MENS PAIRS (everyone guaranteed a full days bowling)

6) JUNIOR SINGLES U16 (this event is formulated, once number of entries are known, on a Round Robin basis)

7) JUNIOR SINGLES U25 (this event is formulated, once number of entries are known, on a Round Robin basis)

I have enclosed a copy of the 2019 Poster and the Entry Form (see above email info@wellingtonbowling.club for copies).

Entries are open until the 31st July 2019.

If you, or your club members have any queries, please feel free to make contact with us.

I wish you and your Club a very successful season, and look forward to, perhaps, welcoming some members to The Teignmouth Open Bowling Week this September.

Yours sincerely

Phil
