Coronavirus support

IMPORTANT – PLEASE NOTE

In view of the debate over whether the priority should now be to give more people the first dose of the vaccine I have been informed by Charing Surgery that those of you who have already received your first COVID-19 vaccination from Charing Surgery on 18th or 19th December and have a date of 8th or 9th of January for your second dose should still attend to receive it.

The Parish Council is not able to meet at the present time but is able to give the following information.

The link for Ashford Borough Council information is https://www.ashford.gov.uk/your-community/emergency-planning/health-and-pandemics/coronavirus-covid-19/

and for support https://www.ashford.gov.uk/your-community/emergency-planning/health-and-pandemics/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-help-for-the-community/

A new GOV.UK WhatsApp Coronavirus Information Service has now been launched.  The purpose of this product is to combat the spread of misinformation propagated through WhatsApp on an Official Government channel.  To use this service, members of the public simply add +44 7860 064422 to their contacts and send a WhatsApp message saying "Hi".

If you are vulnerable and have an urgent need that cannot be met through existing support networks, you can contact the Kent Together helpline at www.kent.gov.uk/KentTogether  or by calling on 03000 41 92 92. It is a 24 hour service.

Kent County Council also has a page on its website answering frequently-asked questions.

If you need help with shopping, collecting medicines or dog walking etc please contact:

Kate 01797 270442 or 07818 006649

or

Liz 07817 789277

who are the residents co-ordinators.

If anyone would like a chat or support in any way from Rev. Judy please call 01797 270227.  If no answer please leave a message and your number and she will get back to you.

Test and Trace support grants are available for low income residents who cannot work.  Visit www.ashford.gov.uk/test-and-trace-support-payment and fill out the online form or call 01233 331111.  Certain criteria must be met.
